As far as Tampa universities go, there is one major public research university in the area, and a number of reputable private 2- and 4-year Tampa colleges. If you're looking for anything beyond an undergraduate degree, you'll have to either earn it at the major public Tampa university or through an online Tampa college. Many online universities have campuses in Tampa, and thus offer hybrid courses that utilize online technology while also meeting occasionally in the classroom.
Because Tampa has such a large student population, the city has a bustling nightlife. A number of great nightclubs, restaurants, and other entertainment venues are dispersed throughout the city. Many of these hot spots are located near Tampa's waterfront.
Speaking of water, Tampa happens to have an ocean for a neighbor. The Tampa Bay area is home to no less than 8 public beaches, most of which are a short drive from the downtown Tampa area. Students can often be found taking a study break at the Ben T. Davis Beach, which is the closest beach to the city.
While broadening your horizons in the classroom, why not also broaden your mind with some art and culture? Tampa has a bustling theatre and performing arts scene. On any night of the week, you'll be able to find some fine arts being performed at one of over fourteen theatres or performing arts centers in the area. If you're looking for something more low-key, you'll be able to find plenty of live music at one of the many local clubs.
